Assistive Technology: Assistive Technology for Specific Disabilities: About One Hand Typing and Keyboarding
SUMMARY: NEVER suggest a one handed keyboard for a child. After the first week of use, 99 percent of all of those keyboards will live in closets and never be used. WORSE, the child thinks it is their fault. A terrible tragedy. Allow them to learn on the same keyboard you are using today. That is what they want. To be great typists, and compete and play with their friends. Using a one-handed keyboard makes them type slower and feel disabled.
