First Signs, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating parents and
physicians about the early warning signs of autism and other developmental
disorders in early childhood.
The First SignsSM mission is to ensure the best developmental outcome for
every child. By educating both parents and physicians, we hope to promote
ongoing discussions regarding the most important, and often overlooked aspects
of development: social/emotional, communication, and behavior.

State University. Staffed by
speech-language pathologists and
interdisciplinary consultants, we are
funded to evaluate the communication
development of children from 6 to 24
months of age in Leon County. They provide a variety of educational materials
and technical support to increase
the capacity of families and
service providers to enhance early
communication in young children.
